NewsOld Unwanted Electronics Have a Place
There are many opportunities to hand down old electronics. There are used computer and electronics stores, pawn shops, garage sales and other ways to see extra life blown into your old gear. But what do you do if you've determined that your old computer monitor, 8-track player, printer or other electronic device is past repair and can't be handed down. It's important that we keep dangerous and toxic electronic components out of the landfills. Old electronics can be recycled easily in Kelowna. British Columbia has a Province-wide, end-of-life electronics recycling program called Return-it Electronics. This program is available to all consumers and businesses in BC. In the Central Okanagan there are two Encorp Return-it collection sites. They accept computers, monitors, printers, fax machines, televisions, radios, VCR and DVD players, digital cameras and many other electronic items. Find the full list here. We all know the environment is no laughing matter...but if you enjoy slap-stick comedy - and have a passion for saving the environment you'll find this humorous video on Toronto's e-waste recycling program with "Chuck and Vince" playful:
