Buildings up

Tuesday, December 15, 2009 - 1:01 AM

Kelowna had a pretty active building environment over the past year with permits surpassing 437-million dollars in the first 11 months of the year.

The Director of Development Services says the city benefitted from some large commercial and industrial projects, but there was also an increase in the number of single-family dwellings.

In Kelowna, housing starts were up 80 per cent in November compared to October.
