Whether it's 30'C above or 30'C below, Kelowna's Gospel Mission is working to keep our community's most vulnerable safe.

The Gospel Mission is open extended hours as the temperature climbs to make sure there is a safe and cool place for clients to enjoy.

"We usually think of extreme weather in terms of cold, but there is the other end of the spectrum - the extreme heat. Many of our clients have health issues that are aggravated by the heat, and we are open to make sure people have a place to cool down and are taken care of. The Gospel Mission plays an important role in keeping people safe all year long" says Executive Director Randy Benson.

KGM Outreach Workers are also making daily rounds of known areas in the city where people camp, providing assistance, sun screen and water.

Donations to the Gospel Mission are gratefully accepted and can be made online-www.kelownagospelmission.ca  or over the phone 250-763-3737.
