“Inspiring hope for families living with ALS”

Cyclists from the Greater Victoria area are set to cycle 650 kilometers throughout B.C. to raise awareness and funds for families living with ALS. The cyclists are leaving Kamloops August 9th from the Accent Inn at 7:30 a.m. and finishing in Hope August 18th between noon and 1:00 p.m.

“This has been an incredible journey and to finally be at the point of departure is very exciting”, said Cindy Lister the rider behind the event who recently suffered a concussion in the lead up to the ride and is now acting as support for the team. “My Dad is looking down on these women and I think he’d be pleased to know how far we have come in our efforts to raise awareness for ALS.”

Kamloops Mayor Peter Milobar will be on hand to launch the event and share his best wishes for the ALS Cycle of Hope team. “I’m pleased to be a part of something that will not only raise awareness for ALS but will serve as a future fundraiser for Kamloops, the Interior and all of B.C. We wish the Cycle of Hope team all the best in their trek across the Province.”

The inaugural ride will become an annual event open to a limited selection of participants in 2013. To donate to ALS Canada, visit www.cycleofhope.ca.
