NewsGlass Depot for Peachland
Recycling in Peachland is now just that much easier. A new GLASS recycling depot has opened this week at the Public Works Yard on Princeton Avenue. The new GLASS depot gives residents a location within the community to dispose of excess glass recyclables over and above the service provided by the recycling facility on Asquith Road in West Kelowna and the Boucherie Bottle Depot on Kyle Road in West Kelowna. The depot operates 5 days per week. The GLASS recycling collection bin is set up at the Public Works Yard at 5379 Princeton Avenue and accessible between 7:00am and 3:30 pm Monday through Friday. Glass is being collected in a separate bin at the depot so that broken glass doesn’t contaminate the other materials collected in your curbside recycling cart, or injure workers. Glass should be clean (rinsed and empty) before taking it to the depot. The glass depot will accept all glass jars and bottles, but no windows, mirrors, cookware or other non-glass recyclables. For more information on this project, or recycling, visit regionaldistrict.com/recycle, or call the Regional Waste Reduction office at 250.469.6250. More Local
