North Okanagan RCMP wants to remind the motoring public of the heavy influx of motorcycle enthusiasts that will be flooding our area during the weekend.

The Sturgis North Motorcycle Rally is taking place at the Motoplex Speedway this weekend and is expected to attract thousands of motorcycle riders into our area.  The increase in motorcycle traffic will be a significant departure from our regular summer vacationing traffic.  North Okanagan RCMP will be increasing their visibility on the roadways in our area this weekend to ensure the safe passage of the motoring public.

Our commitment to Road Safety is a priority; drivers can expect to see high visibility road checks focusing on drinking drivers, motorcycle safety and enforcement of British Columbia’s new Helmut laws that came into effect earlier this year.

North Okanagan RCMP wishes to remind all users of our roadways to take some extra time, be courteous & stay vigilant.  Please consider the safety of your friends, your family and your community before you get behind the wheel.
